The world's finest cotton

Let me tell you a little bit about Supima Cotton.
READ MORE ON OUR BLOG

Supima is an extra-long-staple (ELS) cotton and only accounts for 1% of world cotton production. It is grown in about 500 family-owned farms. Their land is their legacy, and great care is taken to preserve the health of the soil and conserve the water that nourishes it. All farms use state-of-the-art technology and follow a zero-waste model, utilizing every single part of the cotton plant at harvest. Through a collaboration with Oritain, a global leader in product verification, Supima is forensically able to authenticate its cotton across the entire supply chain from the fiber and yarn to the fabric and finished product. Delve deeper into the world of Supima cotton and Juniper's association with the Supima organization below.

WHAT MAKES SUPIMA COTTON SPECIAL?

1. Stronger fibers

Juniper's bedding, towels, and robes are imbued with the exceptional qualities of Supima Cotton, making them truly remarkable. What sets Supima Cotton apart is its unparalleled strength, stemming from its remarkably long fibers. These fibers are twice as strong as those found in regular cotton, endowing Juniper's offerings with exceptional resilience. With Supima Cotton, Juniper's products resist pilling, breaking, and tearing, ensuring they maintain their shape and durability over time. From the cozy embrace of their bedding to the plush comfort of their robes, customers can experience the enduring quality of Juniper's products, thanks to the extraordinary strength of Supima Cotton's fibers.

2. Supersoft against your skin

Our commitment to luxury begins with Supima Cotton's finer, stronger, and longer fibers, which inherently offer a softer and more sumptuous feel against your skin. Compared to the 1-inch length of regular cotton fibers, Supima's extra-long staple fiber measures 1.5 inches, ensuring a truly indulgent experience. As you envelop yourself in Juniper's Supima products, you'll notice their luxurious softness, which only continues to enhance over time, promising a cocoon of comfort and luxury with every use.

3. Retains color better

Supima's finer fibers excel at absorbing dye, ensuring deeper and longer-lasting color penetration compared to regular cotton. With Juniper's Supima products, you can expect colors that remain vivid wash after wash, promising years of lasting brilliance. Experience the enduring beauty of Juniper's products as they continue to brighten your home with their vibrant hues, providing you with both style and longevity.

Supima's network of cotton growers stands at the forefront of innovative agricultural methods. Their dedication to advancing technology establishes new environmental and ethical benchmarks for cotton cultivation worldwide. Here are some example of leading practices.

TRUE TRANSPARENCY STARTS WITH THE FIBER

Juniper aims to simplify the understanding of product quality and its journey to completion for customers. That's why Juniper partner with Supima, known for authenticating its cotton throughout the supply chain. Each Made-In-label on our bedding and towels features a QR code, guiding customers on a journey from Supima cotton fields in California to our factory in Portugal and how they end up at the customer's doorstep.

Is Supima cotton better than cotton?

It represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world. What makes Supima unique to other cottons is the extra-long staple fiber that gives the cotton its premium properties: Strength, Softness and Color retention.

Is Supima better than Egyptian?

Egyptian cotton can also be of lower quality long staple cotton fibres or may be made of a mixture of different quality fibres. Supima®, unlike Egyptian cotton, is grown exclusively in a small area so it can guarantee ELS cotton on all its products, making Supima® the cotton of choice for the discerning buyer.

What are the disadvantages of Supima cotton?

The primary disadvantages of Supima cotton are its higher cost compared to regular cotton products and its limited availability. Supima cotton products tend to be more expensive due to their premium quality and rigorous production standard.

Is Supima cotton breathable?

Supima cotton is one of the longest ELS cottons, and the long fibers result in a stronger yarn overall. Because of that, Supima can be made much finer than other cotton types. A finer weave makes the fabric lightweight and breathable, making it the perfect option for those who tend to sleep warm.

Does 100% Supima cotton shrink?

Supima cotton tends to shrink when put in the washing machine, just like other cotton materials, especially when washed with hot water or dried at high temperatures. Taking proper care when washing and drying clothes and textiles made of Supima cotton can help prevent shrinkage.

Is Supima eco friendly?

From GPS-navigated tractors that plant and harvest the cotton to satellite technology and soil monitors, Supima farmers ensure that they are growing the best quality cotton in the world with as little impact on the environment as possible.
