7 Tips for Hotel-Style Bedding at Home

Soft sheets, a fluffy duvet, and the sense every detail was thought through. Seven concrete ways to bring that feeling home.

There's something magical about a hotel bed: soft sheets, a fluffy duvet, the sense that every detail has been thought through before you ever walked in. Here are seven ways to bring that feeling home.

1. Start with hotel-quality bedding

The base makes all the difference. Invest in bedding made from a premium material that looks luxurious and actually feels it too. We use 100% Supima cotton, one of the finest cottons available, for its silky softness, breathability and subtle shine. Its extra-long fibres also resist pilling and creasing, so the bedding stays smooth night after night rather than looking tired after a season.

2. The spray-bottle trick, no ironing needed

Hotel beds always look crisp without anyone reaching for an iron. Fill a spray bottle with water and lightly mist the bed after making it. Stretch the fabric gently with your hands and let it sit for a few minutes. The wrinkles fall out on their own.

3. Layer different pillow sizes

Layering is what most hotel beds do that home beds don't. Mix standard pillows (50 × 60 cm) with larger ones (around 90 × 50 cm) to add depth and volume, and that fuller, more considered look.

4. Use white as a base

For a clean, calming hotel feel, use white pillowcases as the back layer, especially behind your largest pillows. It works with any bedding colour and makes the whole bed feel more serene.

5. Finish with decorative pillows

This is where it gets personal. Add two to four decorative pillows in textures or tones that either contrast or blend with your bedding, whatever feels right to you. Calm neutrals, deep greens, cool blues, there's no wrong answer, only the one that makes the bed feel like yours.

6. Tuck in the duvet

A small step that changes the whole look. Tucking the duvet under the mattress gives the bed a clean, structured, hotel-like finish, and it helps the bedding stay in place through the night, so the bed still looks made the next morning.

7. Set the mood with scent

No room is finished without scent. It's one of the simplest ways to shift how a space feels. We light a candle most evenings: Château Noir for something cosy and earthy, with notes of black pepper, rose, sandalwood and vanilla, or Mont Fort for something fresher, closer to alpine air and open sky.

It's worth it for the look: tucking the duvet under the mattress gives a clean, structured finish and helps the bedding stay in place overnight, so the bed still looks made in the morning.
