In a serene house filled with warm tones and thoughtful details, Nadja has created a home where life is not only lived, but embraced. Here, new blends with old, and personal rituals shape the atmosphere. In Juniper’s Everyday Stories, she shares her approach to design, how she finds peace in textures and scent – and why she welcomes wine rings on her marble table.

First comes feeling

“The first thing I notice when entering a room is the overall feeling – from the floor to the materials, and always the scent,” Nadja says.

She recently shifted from a light, cool-toned home to a deeper and warmer palette. Her guiding principle is clear: beauty that lasts and materials that can be lived with. “I don’t protect the marble from stains – I live with it. It’s meant to hold memories.”

Textiles, scent and quiet rituals

Soft curtains, layered fabrics in the same color family, and the gentle scent of Chateau Noir welcome visitors. “It smells amazing right now, thanks to Juniper,” she smiles.

One of her favorite rituals? When a new issue of a Danish interior magazine arrives. That moment becomes a pause – a quiet time with coffee and inspiration on the sofa.

The bedroom as sanctuary

With blackout curtains and plenty of layered textiles, the bedroom is Nadja’s sanctuary. “Luxury for me is sleeping in great bedding every day. That’s my version of everyday indulgence.”

A home with intention

While newer pieces have come and gone, older ones remain. “I mix vintage and modern, but I’ve realized that the older items age best – and they stay.”

The heart of the home? “The kitchen and dining area. It’s where everything happens – dinners, music, conversations, game nights. It holds the soul of our home.”

3 Quick Ones with Nadja

Morning coffee in bed or at the table?

Neither – always on the sofa. I’m not really a breakfast person, but coffee on the sofa is sacred.

A design detail with emotional value?

My grandmother’s brass candle holders – with melted green wax from the past still on them. They’re almost too emotional to use.

A trend that won’t enter your home?

Maximalism! I love it in other people’s homes, but mine needs to stay calm and intentional.
