The winter months in Sweden are characterized by short days, cold temperatures, and dark evenings. Many of us can feel our mood dropping, energy dwindling, and motivation waning. Instead of letting this season affect us too much, here are my best tips for you to turn this time of year into something positive, feel better, and embrace its special charm:

1. Romanticize everyday life 

Take the time to appreciate the small moments in everyday life, like sitting by the fireplace, playing your favorite song, cooking your favorite dish, or having a movie night with loved ones. It doesn't have to be grand; sometimes, it's the small moments that matter most.

 

2. Move your body

Even though you may feel like time is scarce or lack the energy to go outside, it's worth it! Physical activity releases endorphins, the body's natural "feel-good hormones," which can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Winter darkness can sometimes negatively impact our mood, and exercise can be an effective way to combat this. If possible, take a walk when the sun is up! It can positively affect our mood and contribute to regulating our daily rhythm.

3. Light in the darkness 

Winter is synonymous with long evenings, and few things create a more delightful atmosphere than candlelight. Lighting candles can work wonders in creating a warm and inviting ambiance during the winter months. Especially when optimizing your daily rhythm is essential, having subdued lighting later in the evening can be beneficial.  4. Take extra care of yourself
